Blue Tree Project
October 11th 2020
To kick off Mental Health Week, Jerramungup townsite painted their Blue Tree as well as giving the picnic table a blue makeover. The event was well attended by locals keen to show their support for the cause and to raise awareness. The event also attracted the attention of quite a few tourists who were able to learn about the meaning behind the Blue Tree and enjoy the free sausage sizzle and drinks. The weather could not have been better for the day and everyone’s efforts were rewarded- the tree looks amazing and makes a real statement as you enter the townsite. The Jerramungup Blue Tree is now the fourth tree within the Shire of Jerramungup with others located in Gairdner, Jacup and Needilup.

October 15th 2020
The Brain Ambulance community event was held at the Sports Club on Thursday night. The event was well attended with 80 people coming to learn about Deb’s personal story, learn practical mental health information and enjoy the delicious complementary grazing platters. Deb had the audience engaged using her dry humour as a platform to delve into some difficult topics and stimulate meaningful conversation within the crowd. A Blue Disco was held in conjunction with this event to allow parents the opportunity to attend. Thanks to the many donations received from businesses big and small, who have a passion for mental health within the community
